All the herbs in my formula, INFLUENZA HERBAL TEA were used back in the 1800's and during the 1918 influenza outbreaks with excellent results and may help keep the swine flu away, because they play a critical role in enabling the immune system to successfully defeat viruses of all kinds. Herbal flu preventives and flu treatments have been around for centuries.
Some patients were treated with herbs in the 1918 influenza pandemic. Their survival rate was far above the average, and the remedies appeared to effectively alleviate much of the discomfort that the flu brought with it. Many of these herbs are able to treat the symptoms associated with seasonal flu as well as the difficult symptoms of pandemic influenza. Herbs such as Boneset was useful for preventing and treating fevers in influenza: Elderberry, has been shown by repeated scientific studies to fight standard strains of influenza. Elderberry appears to reduce the duration of colds and flu by several days. Research has shown that herbs that contain vitamin C improves resistance to disease and prevents flu symptoms.

For the most part unless mentioned otherwise, each tea bag will make 2 to 3 cups of tea; If loose herb tea, two ounces will make about 23 cups of tea . One ounce of just an herb is about a sandwich bag, and sometimes a little more. If it is a root herb such as burdock root it is heavier, thus an ounce would be about a quarter of a sandwich bag. Comfrey, plantain and nettle leaves would be in a quart size bag.
