The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle's Young Farmer Market provides a venue for teenage apprentices in the Young Farmer Training Program to plan, organize and manage sales of crops they have grown on the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle farms. The Young Farmer Training Program is a multi-year farming apprenticeship from Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Three days per week, we host teenage apprentices on our Tryon Rd farm. These teenagers have been learning how to seed, transplant, plan and harvest sustainable produce. They also host conversations about food justice, eating healthy, ending food insecurity, and the greater picture of our food system. Apprentices learn how to design and implement profitable crop plans, including advertisement, marketing and sales.
