IGFC operates the first USDA Certified Mobile Slaughter Unit in the U.S. Developed in the late 1990's with the farmers creating a cooperative in 2000, the co-op operates in a four county area in the upper Puget Sound area.
Currently the co-op has a closed membership of approximately 42 farms due to meeting it's processing limits. IGFC operates a small retail outlet at our plant that is open on Friday and Saturday, NW Homegrown Meats. Many of the co-op members sell through this outlet in addition to self-marketing.
All product is grass fed. We specialize in small farm product limited to beef, hogs, lamb and goat. Our facility besides being USDA inspected is also WSDA/USDA Certified Organic for processing.
