The Jersey City Food Co-op stemmed from the belief that everyone deserves access to nutritious, high-quality food at a fair price. To that end, we're working to build a network of Jersey City residents, local businesses, and regional producers of ethically grown goods. Together, we have committed ourselves to building a better, healthier Jersey City through volunteerism and local reinvestment. As we grow, our policies and products will always reflect our dedication to responsible stewardship of the environment. Because a strong community begins with healthy food.

The JCFC is owned, worked and shopped by its owners. To help create a true and sustainable cooperative it takes the collective and collaborative efforts of a community. Owners are asked to contribute "sweat equity," or labor, toward our operations which, by design, helps keep our products affordable.
