Jo & Alan Nyland

We have been raising chickens forever. We have 9.7 acres half of which are fenced. We are in the middle of a wild life refuge so we do have to provide chicken runs to protect our chickens from wildlife from the air as well as the ground. We are no longer raising goats for meat as we are going to concentrate on chickens. At the present time we have 300 laying hens. 100 are Rhode Island Reds ,200 are Park-so-go-links ,which are my very favorite. They lay very large dark brown eggs. . We are not organic but try to feed the chickens a well balanced diet with no chemicals. To disinfect we use a special biodegradable enzyme that works beautifully.
