Johnson Family Farms

My wife Shana and I started farming in 2005. We bought our current homestead in 2007 and started raising FREE RANGE chickens. After developing some infrastructure we decided to raise cattle. Our cattle are vaccinated but not treated with antibiotics. We do not implant the cattle with slow-release growth hormones. The animals are fed corn from our farm and hay from our farm and some from our neighbors. We feed dried gluten as a protein source. We attempt to purchase calves from local farmers and pamper them in a low stress environment, they are hand fed and normally tame enough to pet. We believe this gives the animals the best quality of life and improves meat quality. If a customer prefers we can source verify the calf.
