KG Acres Farm and Featherwerks

Available now: frozen free-range heritage chickens and guinea fowl, fed only organic, non-GMO feed. Sorry, we are SOLD OUT of T-GIVING TURKEYS. We are a small farm specializing in the earth-friendly, small-scale production of culinary and medicinal herbs, produce (especially exotic and Heirloom varieties), honey, and free-range/pastured organic heritage poultry and poultry products. We tend to focus more on quality and diversity of product, rather than on intensive production of common varieties. Whereas we are no t"certified organic," we employ only organic, sustainable methods of crop and animal management. Humane treatment and Heritage breed preservation are the core values driving our poultry business. We both hold various degrees in Agricultural sciences from Iowa State University, which serve us well in proactively addressing and acting upon the various complications imposed by nature and man. One unique aspect of our business re-purposes shed feathers or those obtained at poultry processing into decorative and useful items such as wreaths, seasonal decor, jewelry, and hair adornments.

We've had KG Acre two years in a row and both were great. The first was HUGE (27 lbs) and was still moist and tender. This year's was small (12 lbs) and also moist and tender. Very yummy!

That's right folks - the whole bird. I'm not even a real turkey lover at that. Sure, I like cold cuts, turkey bacon, sausage and ham but these things don't actually taste like real turkey.... [more]
