Kookoolan Farms LTD

Kookoolan Farms LTD - Follows organic and biodynamic practices but is not certified. We have never used any chemical pesticide, herbicide, fungicide or fertilizer on our farm! Even our compost is self-produced from our own cows and chickens -- we are one of very few organic vegetable farms that DOES NOT buy composted animal manure from confinement feedlot operations.

We butcher our chickens, ducks, turkeys, and rabbits on our farm in our own licensed and inspected on-farm processing plant, and we have our beef, pork, venison and lamb butchered where they stand in the pasture by a licensed mobile processing facility. NONE of our animals are ever trucked to slaughter, held in confinement, ever set foot in a feedlot, or are ever exposed to factory-raised animals. We sell beef in increments as small as 1/8th carcass, and pork and lamb in 1/2 carcass increments. Meat is fully butchered, wrapped, labelled, and frozen. For more information see http://www.kookoolanfarms.com/Beef.html.

2014 is our sixth year offering 100%-organically grown (but not certified) vegetables through a CSA subscription program. Please visit our website for details, http://www.kookoolanfarms.com/Organic_Vegetable_CSA.php, or email or phone with your mailing address and we will mail you our 2014 brochure. 2014 will offer more share sizes and flexibility than ever! Market-style pickup gives YOU control over what you get! Money back guarantee? Of course!

Our indoor farmstore has public restrooms and is open 365 days a year, 8:00am to 6:00pm. Our farmstore is an unstaffed honor store, and we therefore request that you phone before your first visit so that one of us can meet you in the farmstore and show you how it all works. After that you are welcome to shop anytime at your pleasure. (New customers are welcome for first-time visits Monday through Saturday, please phone ahead, 503-730-7535.)

We also produce Mead (honeywine), and lightly alcoholic kombucha tea.

Directions: Our farm is about 45 minutes southwest of Portland, Oregon, right on Highway 47, half-mile south of Yamhill, and two-and-a-half miles north of Carlton. Click here for a map and directions. We follow organic practices, but are not seeking certification.

I love my occasional trips out to Kookoolan Farms for my beef, pork or lamb. The meat is delicious and browsing the Farm Store, and now the Meadery is really enjoyable.
