#3: our products are free of pesticides. We don't even use those allowed under organic certification standards, such as rotenone and pyrethrum. If they are toxic to inscects, we do not think them safe.
#4: we fertilize with our own on-farm compost, enlivened and enhanced by Biodynamic preparations.
#5: we farm with intent. We sow according to the lunar and zodiac calendar. We treat our animals with great care and respect. We are grateful for the natural biodiversity on our farm.
#6: animals and crops, pasture, woodlands and wetland enhance one another to form a symbiotic system. Our animals are free-ranging on pasture all year round.
#7: our sought-after, pasture-raised eggs are laid by hens that enjoy an exclusive lifestyle. Our hens forage on a rich clover pasture year-round, are fed 100% certified organic grains and our own vegetable scraps that impart deep color and flavor to the yolks. For a health and protein boost, we also offer our hens raw fermented dairy products from our pastured cow and herbs.
We are a family of 4. This is the life we chose to supply our family with the very best nutrition possible and live in tune to nature. We raise meat for our own consumption and can offer shares in the animals we raise.
