Lacewing Acres is a small vegetable farm just south of the Ledges State Park near Boone, Iowa, growing a wide variety of high quality, fresh vegetables for the Ames and Boone areas. We primarily sell through a small CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) serving Ames with home deliveries, and the Ames Main Street Farmers Market.
The farm is named after the green lacewing, a lovely native insect that preys on the pests we all hate to find in our salad mix. Lacewing Acres is whole-heartedly committed to a way of farming that builds the health and quality of its soil, creates habitat for beneficial insects and provides opportunities for eaters and their families to learn about growing food and land stewardship first-hand.
