We are located on the border of the Seneca Indian Nation in southwestern New York State between Salamanca and Jamestown, in a region heavily populated by the Amish. We raise suri alpacas. In addition to production and show quality livestock, we sell raw fleeces, rovings and hand- and millspun yarn. I can often also offer suri fleece that has been allowed to reach 10-14 inches in length for sale to doll artists, crafters and collectors. Fleeces are often reserved a year in advance, so please contact me if you would like to reserve fiber from next year's shearing.
We are now moving to a livestock model of production, in which our excess males 3-years of age or older will be harvested for meat production. Alpaca meat is extremely lean, has high protein, and antibiotic-free. It is prepared much like venison, but has a very mild flavor that absorbs spices and marinades exceptionally well to create highly flavorful and healthy meals. Call for availability and pricing.
We practice sustainable farming (using Holistic Management practices), and are members of a network of local farms working to develop closer relationships between consumers and producers in our area through education, farm visits and promotional events and activities designed to help our members market directly to consumers.
We welcome farm visits. Give us a call or send us an e-mail to arrange a time to see what's happening here!
