Lar-Lyn Farms LLC began in 1989, a dream of Larry and Lynn Nead. We raise home grown produce. We also grow hay and raise registered Haflinger horses and cattle. Our farm is located in Buckingham County Virginia, in a small farming town called Dillwyn.
We grow our produce using sustainable farming practices. We return nutrients to the soil naturally and use the most natural pest management practices available. We work hard to grow in partnership with Mother Nature to produce the very best tasting farm foods for your family.
In 2011, we are proud to offer our new Customer Sensitive Agriculture farmscription. In our farmscription program, you have the opportunity to pre-purchase a share of the harvest before the growing season begins. It works just like a subscription to your favorite magazine! This helps with the farmer with start up costs for that growing season and assures they are able to bring you the very best they have to offer.
You can pick from our weekly display of fresh-picked, premium quality, local produce set up at your neigh-borhood community center or workplace. In April, your beginning balance will be your prepaid amount. You will have a running balance until Sept 3rd. We also give you forfeit weeks when you are away. We want to eliminate the problems of Community Supported Agriculture and change it to Customer Sensitive Agriculture.
Ask about setting up our farmscription display at your workplace, neighborhood, or church at a convenient day and time each week that the whole community can take part in. We need a minimum of 50 farmscription customers at each site. There is nothing like bringing a community together with great people and great food.
Our farm worked with Virginia Cooperative Extension to think up a better way to offer a convenient and reasonable CSA. We came up with the idea of a Customer Sensitive Agriculture program. Lar-Lyn Farms CSA is sensitive to our customers needs and wants. We offer more flexibility and choice to our customers, from plan sizes to local produce selection. If you organize a drop off point with 50 farmscribers, you will receive your CSA farmscription FREE!
