Here at Sauvie Island Lavender Farm, we take pride in our lavender. Our 2011 lavender crop was bountiful this year.
Our dried bouquets generously contain 250-300 stems of Grosso lavender and is elegantly wrapped in tissue and tied with a satin ribbon. Each bouquet comes with a 3x4 inch organza sachet bag to place any loose buds.
We hand harvest when the lavender in about 20 percent in bloom. This is when the color is most vibrant. Harvest is done in the morning hours after the dew had lifted when the lavender fragrance is at its peak.
Grosso lavender was bred to have a high oil content and strong aroma. The scent will last for a few months as a dried bundle.
To revive, gently squeeze a few buds to release the aroma of lavender or strip them off the stem and place in the sachet bag that comes with your bundle.
Squeeze the sachet and place in a drawer, closet, or next to the bed to continue enjoying the heavenly scent of lavender.
