The Laughery Valley Growers is a multi-farm agricultural cooperative owned by the coop members who grow produce for the CSA shares. A Board of Directors elected by coop members/growers leads the cooperative. All growers meet in the fall to make their produce commitments for the next growing season which determines how many shares to sell. An Executive Director (annual stipend) manages the direct market operation and a finance manager (annual stipend) handles subscribers' fee payments and growers' sales payments. A part-time paid CSA Coordinator/Manager and Assistant Manager handles the ordering and packing of produce during the growing season. FarmFreshCSA offers CSA boxes for local residents in the Batesville, Indiana area, and for The Christ Hospital employees in Cincinnati, OH, June through mid-October. Coop growers agree to use natural methods of production as much as possible. In 2012 there will be 15 growers filling 120 CSA boxes. The CSA Manager keeps track of which produce is packed in which subscribers' boxes.
