Each Learn to Spin Kit contains 1 wooden top whorl drop spindle with a 2 1/2 inch whorl and 12 inch stick weighing approximately 2 ounces, 1 ounce of carded alpaca, a small photo of the alpaca from who's fiber is included in your kit, and directions for using the spindle. All item components come in a re-useable zip lock gallon sized bag.
All items were made at our ranch. My husband makes the spindles, our alpacas grow the fiber and I shear the alpacas and card the fiber into batts which are ready for spinning. I'm also hand spinner so I assure that the fiber you receive is top quality for spinning into yarn.
Alpaca is a luxury fiber which is very easy to spin. Warmer than wool, soft like cashmere, hypoallergenic, machine washable and fire-resistant.
