Liatris Spicata is a relatively hardy perennail. It grows upwards of 2 feet, and can be used in borders,dried arrangements, and to attract butterflies. It boasts bright lavender colored spike-like booms. The foliage is a sturdy dark green. It is relatively care free, and takes to most soil types. Hardiness zones are 3-8. It blooms July-September.
We field grow these, and keep some in our front flower garden. They enjoy full sun, but will also do well in partial shade. The Liatris will be shipped as a plant in early spring, and as a tuber in late fall. Each order will contain one healthy palnt, or tuber with planting instructions.Save now, and but three for for the price of two!
The liatris is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, or fertilizers. We do at times top dress them with organic compost. They are pest free, and a reliable grower.
