Lime thyme is one of the varieties of thyme we cultivate. It is like other thymes, in that it is quite labor-intensive to get in bottled dry jar form. We harvest by hand, dry, and then pluck leaves from stems by hand. It literally takes about an hour to pluck 1/2 cup of these leaves. There will be occasional small stems left in your product that we just simply missed.
Use lime thyme with cream cheese or sour cream for dips as well as in poultry, shellfish, game, boiled potatoes, hot vegetables, and broths.
I love this citrus aroma plant and have a very difficult time distinguishing it from lemon thyme, which we also carry. Those people with much better sense of smell are quickly able to tell the difference.
