Ocean Song Farms

(South Dennis,MA)

Ocean Song Farm is a goat farm on Cape Cod in Massachusetts with a growing herd of Toggenburg, Saanen, and one lovely red haired Nigerian goat named Liesl. We also have the cutest mohair pet goats you have ever seen. We love fiber folks and encourage them to contact us for raw and processed mohair. We are always happy to trade and sell mohair to knitters weavers and the like. Our goats’ diet consists of hand mixed organic grain from Green Mountain Feeds from Bethel VT. We also feed them luscious organic vegetables and of course hay, hay and hay from all over New England and the occasional Canadain bale thrown in. If you have ever considered owning your own dairy goat for home dairy use please feel free to contact us. In the future we hope to produce a high quality organic cheese. We are slowly working toward our goals and know it will be a long slow process. At the moment we are hobbyists and love to talk with other amateur cheese makers about cheese making and their recipes and methods. We are always trying to improve our product. We do not however sell milk or cheese, yogurt or anything dairy to the public. Please do not send email asking for these products as we are not set up or licensed to sell them and we will not under any circumstances!!! We are in the beginning stages of the slow process of licensing which could take up to five years at the rate we're going. We sell breeding stock goats to qualified, screened buyers and they aint cheap.... be prepared to offer us 350.00-400.00/animal. If you want to start your own home dairy please talk to us. We have beautiful Saanen goats to sell and breed. Their milk is mild and delicious and makes some serious cheese. They have a lovely temperament and are the beauty queens of the pasture. Support local Cape Cod agriculture by purchasing local produce and joining your neighborhood farmer's community supported agriculture CSA. Take time to attend your local Farmer's markets. Don't forget to pick up Edible Cape Cod (the magazine) when it comes out- they are doing an outstanding job of promoting Cape Cod food and the producers who work so hard to create the food you enjoy. Let your neighbors farm!!! Bring Cape Cod back to its agricultural glory! Quit yer belly achin’ and definitely attend all farmers markets and local food events when you can.
