Peaceful Heart Alpacas Farm and Store

(Fancy Gap,VA)

Along one of America's most scenic roads, you will find Peaceful Heart Alpacas. Our 27 acre alpaca farm is located at Mile Post 204 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, just a few miles from the Virginia/North Carolina border and easily accessible from I-77 and Hwy 52. We feel blessed every day to wake up to pastures full of beautiful alpacas and a fiber arts studio and store located in our 100 year old farm house. We are a three generation, family farm, and welcome visitors, free of charge, year round. During the winter, we are open Fri-Sat 10am-4pm and Sundays 1-4pm, and during the week by appointment. Alpacas are a gentle animal in spirit and in their impact on the environment. An incredibly colorful fiber producer, alpacas come in 22 different color groups with a wide range of shades within these groups. Our alpacas are truly exceptional, chosen carefully for their fine fiber and bred to improve on that fineness while paying close attention to conformation and density. Bloodlines represented in our herd include Hemingway, Bueno, Caligula, The Silversmith, Peruvian Platinum, Don Juan, Peruvian Matador, and Royal Fawn. The success of our breeding program is illustrated in the quality of our multiple, award winning alpacas such as Peaceful Heart's Lord Tennyson and Peaceful Heart's Asa Lee. In addition to high quality breeding stock, we also sell sweet natured geldings as pets and fiber animals. Our farm store has a terrific selection of colorful alpaca fibers and yarns, as well as a variety of alpaca products made at our farm and imported, fair-trade certified items. You have to try on our alpaca sweaters to believe how soft they are. We also offer fiber art classes throughout the year, such as weaving, felting, knitting and crochet, so check back with us often or sign up for our mailing list on our webpage. Come by for a visit and a trip along "America's Favorite Drive". Meet our alpacas and learn about the joys and challenges of raising them. Take a free farm tour and visit our store, then take time to experience the beauty and history of our Blue Ridge Mountain communities.
