Gum Springs Farm produces fruit, vegetables and Beef cow/calf operation, offering; Pick your own and picked Strawberries, Lettuce, Broccoli and Cauliflower, late April thru May Sweet Corn, Green Beans, Tomatoes, Squash, Peppers and Honey, July thru September Gum Springs, an artesian spring, the start of Turnback Creek that flows at a rate of 4 million gallons a day to Stockton Lake and supports 2 varieties of water cress, 1 Radish, one mild flavored. We irrigate directly out of the spring. Gum Springs Farm is rich in history. It is very likely that while picking strawberries that you will find arrowheads as Indians usually camped around springs. Ask us the reason they named the creek, Turnback Creek. Come on out and make a day of picking strawberries at Gum Springs Farm. We are just 8 miles west of Republic on highway 174 turn south ½ mile on Lawrence County road 1245. See deer and turkeys as they are abundant. Visit the community of Chesapeake, MO where the Missouri Department of Conservation has their fish hatchery. They raise Muskie, Walleye, Large Mouth Bass, Channel catfish and Bluegill perch, from brood stock they have there. They stock fish in lakes throughout the state.
