John More was the first caucasion settler of the region, emigrating from Scottland in 1772. Cooked Goose Farm sits along the modest East Branch of the Delaware River which begins from a small pond just north of the farm flowing southward toward the Pepacton Reservoir, the largest reservoir in the New York City water supply system.
