Holding Ranch


Holding ranch produces: BEEF: Grass-fed angus beef which we sell at the following Bay Area farmer's markets: Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, Menlo Park and San Mateo. We also sell quarters and halves by special order which we bring down to the Bay Area to deliver. All of our animals are treated humanely and we use sustainable practices in raising them. They are also never given antibiotics or grain. We do not use pesticides or insecticides on our ranch. LAMB: In addition to beef, we raise Dorper sheep. Dorpers are hair sheep and their meat is milder. Whole lamb is available by special order. CHICKEN: We also produce pastured broilers which are day rangers and are fed 100% certified organic feed. These are slower growing broilers which are healthier than the fast growing Cornish Crosses. They take longer to grow out but the meat is succulent! PORK: We also raise purebred Berkshire hogs which have plenty of room to roam and love living on the ranch! Whole hogs are available by special order. Hunter and Anne holding run the ranch themselves and care for their animals. In 2008, we moved from the Lafayette hills to north of Mt. Shasta where we could expand our operations yet still be able to remain small enough to maintain our quality and our connection with our animals. We now run on irrigated pastures.
