(Henderson,TN)As a growing agritourism enterprise, Stillwaters Farm is first and foremost an exhibition farm where animals of many different varieties reside for the primary purpose of our (and their) enjoyment! Because these gentle creatures are approachable even by the youngest of us, they are wonderful teaching tools for our visitors. Unfortunately, a growing number of people in our country have never been up close and personal with a donkey or a cow or a sheep...especially one as friendly and big as Newman. We, therefore, take great pleasure in introducing our guests to our livestock. We book private-party tours and field trips for groups. Secondly, and in keeping with our agritourism core, we offer farm stays at the Cottage which is located at the leading edge of our farm. Guests can book the facility from one night to two weeks, and while they're here, we invite them to take a tour, get to know our residents, and jump right in to our daily activities, if they are so inclined. Finally, we are a working farm. Aside from the hay we produce, we also grow and cure various gourds, turning them into beautiful works of art for the home or garden. In addition to our herb patch, we maintain a portion of our garden in excessively hot peppers and heritage tomatoes. we look forward to offering a variety of products made from these fruits. Among our "other" products, and lending to the agritourism and educational nature of our farm, we support other area farms, and American agriculture in general, by producing handcrafted soaps, soy candles, balms and creams--highlighting products that include agricultural products of our area. We also offer all-occasion handmade greeting cards as well as offering original, matted photographs in various sizes, featuring our own body of rural photographic work. These are just some of the interesting finds at "The Silo" retail area on our farm. Rest for the weary, peace for the troubled, and education--that is what we are all about.
