Willows Bend Farm

Willows Bend Farm is a family run business specializing in Heirloom Tomatoes, Open Pollinated Vegetables, Flowers for Fragrance and Attracting Butterflies and Hummingbirds, Perennials, Herbs, Hanging Baskets and Container Gardens. This year we offer produce and fresh eggs grown on our farm and from other local farms. Our new Emporium featuring bulk organic herbs and spices, teas, essential oils and aromatherapy products, as well as hand crafted items is now open. We offer local artisans a place to sell their wares on a consignment basis. Our goal at Willows Bend Farm is to create an interactive experience within the gardening community. We will offer workshops, cooking classes, tomato tastings and other events as suggested by the community. We listen to our customers and special orders are welcome. Participation in the planning of next year's crop is encouraged. The Emporium also provides a workshop environment catered to the area of interest and age of participants. Make your own bath salts, body lotions, herbal blends, body scents and more. Ingredients, containers and even labels are available. Accepting applications for internships for those wishing to accept knowledge, experience, plants and produce for working on the farm. One hour or many! Many of our perennials are dug from our property, others from trades with community members. We also special order perennials from wholesale nurseries. (these may not be organically grown before we get them). We encourage bartering plants for services and trading plants. We also can special order shrubs, trees and small fruits. All of the vegetable plants we start from seed are grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We are learning and applying the principals of permaculture and forest farming and would like to try aquaponic gardening as well. Our goal is to become as self-sustaining as possible. New this year are heritage breed American Guinea Hogs. Currently (December 2013) we have 3 (possibly bred) girls that are about 8 months old for sale at $250 each. More piglets may be available Spring 2014. We co-operate with Garden Gate Farm Alpacas and more who also has piglets, American Guinea Hog crossed with Kune Kune. Alpacas will be sheared in the spring. We sell fleece that can be carded into batts by you or us. We are learning to spin and felt. Spring of 2014 we expect to provide a flour milling service with our new Grain-Maker grain mill. We are currently seeking local sources of non-GMO grains and field peas to make our own animal feed and grind for baking. We love to give farm tours for you to learn about sustainable farming!
