Russell Meadows Floral & Nature Farm

(Liberty,NC)

Russell Meadows is a non-traditional mini farm on property that was once part of a large traditional farm owned by Tammy's grandparents. Most of the property was divided and sold into smaller agricultural plots years ago. Damion and Tammy are creating an environment that will enrich the lives of their family, animals and community. It has been a slow-going process, but all seeds take time to grow! Currently living on the little farm are Muscovy ducks, Standard breed chickens, Bantam chickens, two Nigerian Dwarf goats, two Miniature Pot-bellied pigs, three cats and a Great Pyrenees to protect everyone! Future plans include a variety of fiber animals such as Alpacas, Angora goats and rabbits, as well as some novelty poultry and more miscelllaneous pets! Plants, flowers and herbs are also an important part of the business. Tammy is a NC Certified Professional Floral designer, and after selling her retail florist in 2007, began freelance designing from home and at select florists in the Triad. Now, with 3 year old daughter, Rheydyn, she works from home full-time designing flowers for weddings, special events, churches, businesses, and for individual clients needing her floral services. Damion also offers his services in photography. He has captured some very beautiful moments in nature from butterflies and dragonflies to wild alligators at our NC coasts! He also photographs weddings and special events. His photos will be for sell on our website - www.russellmeadowsfarm.com. Specialty items that are and will be grown at the "farm-ette" include, heirloom vegetables, a large selection of herbs and flowers often used in Tammy's designs as well as tree and shrub branches that can be trimmed and used in seasonal and holiday decorations. A farm store/flower shop and greenhouses are in the future plans, and Tammy hopes to offer a variety of classes throughout the year to individuals interested in learning the art of floral design.
