(Cheyenne,WY)The Cheyenne Winter Farmers Market is located inside the cozy historic train depot the first Saturday of each month from November through May starting at 10 and ending at 2 pm. All our vendors sell items that are produced in Wyoming, northern Colorado or western Nebraska, but within a 150 miles of Cheyenne. All items are produced by the vendors behind the tables, no food brokers or food re-sellers or distributors are allowed and only a small percentage of craft or body care products are at this market.. You'll find a bounty of locally raised grass fed meats from Beef, Bison, and Lamb, Goat, Pork, along with free range pastured Chicken and Turkey. (a side note: A growing body of research indicates that eating grass-fed meat is a healthy choice, it's rich in Omega-3 fatty acides, Vitamin E and is lower in bad fats than grain-fed meat). Winter vegetables like; winter squash, onions, leeks, beets, carrots and even lettuce weather permitting. You'll also find; fresh homemade artisan breads, cookies, pies, soups, chowders. Speciality and unique jams. Local Laramie County honey is also at this market. Look for locally made and regular, jams, jellies and fruit butters, chili, smoked turkey and Bar-B-Que to go. Victory Hill Dairy will be selling their award winning hand crafted goat cheese and cheese curds. Cheyenne's own PerrBear handmade chocolates is back with wonderful goodies. This is a third generation candy maker offering the full range of great chocolate treats.(Editors note: I've had an opportunity to try these truly heavenly chocolates, they are the real deal chocolate confection). Fresh eggs from chickens or ducks that get to enjoy the great outdoors and range freely, just like grandma's. If that's not enough we have vendors selling locally roasted coffee and locally made gourmet pasta. We also a few have carefully selected art and craft vendors selling natural skincare products, handmade jewelry, clothing and glass items.
