Sherwood Farm

Located in the rolling foothills of Albemarle County, Sherwood Farm boasts ideal conditions for raising American Black Angus cattle. Our moderate climate provides for ample natural grazing for much of the year as well as plentiful hay and silage grown on the farm for feeding during the winter months. Sherwood Farm cattle are pastured for approximately 18 months and are then offered the proprietary Sherwood diet, high in protein, fiber, and the essential nutrients that produce perfectly-marbled steaks and roasts. When the animals reach optimum stature and weight, they are humanely processed, under continual USDA inspection, then clear-pack frozen and labeled for delivery to your freezer. At Sherwood, we do not use growth hormones or anything artificial to enhance our product. Our beef is dry-aged for a minimum of 28 days. Dry aging is an art that was nearly lost in the 1950s with the advent of vacuum packaging, but connoisseurs still appreciate the flavor and tenderness that dry aging imparts. Sherwood Farm offers full, half, and quarter shares of pasture-raised, grain finished black angus beef. Email or call Pres for more information.
