Michigan Yakkers

At Michigan Yakkers Farm, all of our animals are raised with the utmost care. They are all offered 'treats' out of our hands. Most are named, and every animal is handled and given affection. We believe that every animal should be treated with kindness and thoughtfulness, regardless of their status as a meat animal or breeder. None of our animals are given hormones. Most of the animals are forage-fed, with 'treats' of grain only given in small amounts. Any grain that is given is medication/antibiotic-free. We are now accepting pre-orders for the following products: Tibetan Yak- Can be purchased in specific cuts, half or whole. Check out our webpage for information about yak meat. Email for pricing/pre-order. Deposit will vary, depending on amount of meat ordered. Whole chickens- These birds are tender and plump! As with all of our animals, the chickens are hormone-free and antibiotic-free. They are given plenty of space, fresh air and sunshine. Healthy, happy birds provide a healthy, flavorful meal to your family. $2.50/lb, average weights of 6-9 lbs. Email to pre-order. Heritage Turkeys- We raise two Heritage breeds: Bourbon Reds and Narragansetts. We are members of the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy, and try to do our part to support rare and Heritage breeds. We've really enjoyed these two breeds, and the meat will be amazing! $6/lb, average weights should be between 16-22 lbs. Email to pre-order. Deposit of $35.00 will be required for turkeys. Cayuga ducks- This is a Heritage breed of duck from the Cayuga Lake region. They are beautiful ducks, with black plumage that shimmers a brilliant green in the sunlight. Their meat is amazing! The only other duck meat that I have enjoyed almost as much as Cayuga is Mallard. The other breeds that I've tasted are boring in comparison. $9/lb, average weight is about 3 lbs. We also have breeding stock available. If you would like to learn more about our farm, you can find us on FB or check out our webpage.
