Michelle Doll Mother Earth's Urban Farm

(Tampa,FL)

If you need more information, please call me at 813-748-2310. I spend most of my time in the field, so the phone is the best way to reach me. I'm not able to answer emails and/or messages left on this site in a timely manner. Thanks! We have a beautiful little site in a residential neighborhood, with citrus, mulberry, and loquat trees, pineapple, and Suriname Cherry bushes, and much more. In the center of the property is a beautiful "mini-forest" of citrus and oak with Suriname cherries as the understory. Ginger grows in the shade, as well as many flowers. We have a children's play area and a picnic area, which members and volunteers are encouraged to use. Farm tours are available at noon on Saturday & by appointment. We use permaculture and organic methods to grow our lovely fruits and vegetables. All our inputs are strictly organic, especially the fertilizers (composted horse stable sweepings, worm castings, and a hand blended mix of natural produces such as composted manure, lime, phosphate rock, and powdered kelp). Our seeds are grown in a mixture of coconut coir and worm compost (grown and harvested onsite). We try to avoid using anything which must be imported from off-site, such as peat moss. Our mulch is recycled tree limbs and leaves donated from local, small-business tree trimmers. The composted horse manure comes from a local stable. Please come out and see our lovely farm. It's an oasis of peaceful green in a concrete jungle.
