Aspen Ridge Farm is a small diversified family farm specializing in naturally grown, pasture raised meat including chicken, pork, lamb, rose veal and eggs. We provide unlimited pasture to all of our animals through daily rotational grazing. Our pastures are managed organically with no herbicide or pesticide applications, and fertilizers are in the form of manure and compost produced on farm. We use no growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics. Our broilers and layers forage on our pastures while free ranging outside, always exposed to fresh pasture, natural sunlight and fresh air. 2014 Broilers will be available starting at the end of May through the November. Eggs are always available, though supply is limited in the winter months. In addition to their foraging, we supplement the diets of our poultry with an organically grown, soy and GMO free grain ration that is both grown and milled locally. Our pigs are provided with both forest and pasture to browse and root in. Frequent pasture rotation minimizes their impact on the environment and maximizes their quality of life and flavor of the meat. In addition to their foraging, we supplement the diets of our pigs with an organically grown, soy and GMO free grain ration that is both grown and milled locally as well as raw milk produced on farm. We offer a limited number of whole and half pigs available for sale each year. Individually packaged cuts of pork are generally available in the summer and fall months. Our lambs graze and browse on fresh grass, and have access to high quality minerals and salt. Their diet is 100% pasture or dried forage (hay) and we do not supplement with grain. We rotate them frequently to fresh pasture ensuring lambs always have the best nutrition available. Individually packaged cuts of lamb are generally available in the fall months. In addition to cuts of lamb, we frequently have wool pelts and home spun yarns produced from our wool. Veal calves are fed fresh, raw milk produced on our farm twice daily. In addition to milk, calves have access to as much fresh grass or hay (winter months) as they choose. Calves live on pasture and are rotated daily through our rotational grazing system. Rose veal is full of flavor, yet still retains its veal tenderness. Our 2014 meat and egg CSA begins in May and ends in November. CSA members have the option to pick-up shares on farm or monthly in Madison, NJ. Base shares include eggs and whole chicken broilers, with the option of pork and veal add-ons.
