Garmon Family Farm
(Whitesburg,GA)Garmon Family Farm is a small family farm best known for our Blueberries located approximately 1 hour west of Atlanta, GA. We have blueberries, muscadines, scuppernongs, pears, apples, seasonal garden produce, herbs, free range eggs (chicken, duck, and guinea when in season) and flowers. We grow mostly heirloom and specialty vegetables in the garden. This includes many different varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, salad greens, oriental vegetables, okra, peppers, herbs, chards, etc. U-Pick (Blueberries, Muscadines, and Scuppernongs Only): Hours: 8am - Dusk on Mondays- Saturday (closed on Wednesday) . Sundays are 2pm - dusk. Blueberries: July - early August. $10.00 per gallon. Muscadines and Scuppernongs: Late September - October or first frost. Reservations available up to one month prior to date. Blueberry U-pick dates fill up fast. Call or email for reservations as we are open by Appointment only. No drop in customers please. I have a farm and family which includes two children. I am not always on the farm and may not be here if I'm not expecting you. Besides you'll probably get lost or take the long way if you use a GPS, Mapquest, yahoo maps, or any of those other directional websites. Also, I limit the amount of U-pick customers that come out at one time so that everyone can have a good time. NO CITRONELLA - I'M SEVERELY ALLERGIC. IF YOU SHOW UP WITH CITRONELLA ON YOU WILL HAVE TO STAY AT LEAST 50 YARDS AWAY FROM ME! Interns and others interested in working on the farm are always welcome! You can read more about us in the June 2003 Southern Living, Georgia Living Section. Presently we sell at the Dunwoody Green Market (Wed. 8am-12:30pm) from May - November. This Market is located next to the Dunwoody Post Office in the Dunwoody Village shopping ceneter (check out the Dunwoody Green Market Local Harvest listing and sign up for the E-newsletter that I write for Market updates, recipes, CSA information, and more http://dunwoodygreenmarket.com.
