***Shearing season will be here before we know it, so if you need a shearer for your alpacas or llamas, or know someone who does, contact me today to get on the 2011 schedule!*** We started our family- 'farm' in January of 2009, and by that I mean we purchased 7 wonderful alpacas for our two small sons and ourselves to enjoy. We currently own 9 alpacas and are expecting two in the spring. I started shearing in the spring of 2009, after attending 2 classes in March, and have shorn over 300 alpacas and llamas since then. I found my love of spinning during the summer of 2009, and love to knit, as well. I have been felting all sorts of things lately. So, big plans are in the works for our farm store--to eventually, and as soon as possible, stock lots of beautiful, hand-made yarn and alpaca products. For now, since we're trying to sell our suburban house to move to the farm with our alpacas, I am selling my yarn, fiber and knit-products on Etsy and at the farm. I am very open to custom requests. We also have many other ideas for products we want to carry, and I make drop spindles and knitting needles which I will help you learn with! I want you to think of us when you think 'farm store'. Our alpacas are for sale as well. They have very strong pedigrees, quality fiber and have been trained by us and handled regularly. They are currently boarded at Summertime Farm in Darrtown, Ohio. If you are curious or find yourself wondering what to do this weekend, please feel welcome to plan a visit with us, at that location!
What's your favorite color? I want to welcome anyone interested in alpacas to call or email me and plan a farm visit, because I am always happy to talk alpacas with someone, especially someone who shares an excitement about them as I do! Alpacas are wonderful animals. To anyone thinking about starting their own farm, do it. They bring so much peace and joy to a family. Please take a moment to leave us a message. Say hello and let me know what you think of our page!
