Little Seed Gardens is an eighty-five acre family run farm in the town of Chatham in Columbia County. Claudia Kenny and Willie Denner tend vegetables, cover crops, and pasture. We are committed to ecological agriculture practices that protect land and human resources, build biological diversity, and produce quality food for regional markets. Our food is grown without herbicides, synthetic pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers.
Our deepest commitment is to growing vegetables that taste good. We grow many heirloom varieties, seeds passed from generation to generation because of their eating quality and beauty. Throughout the season, we offer over forty varieties of vegetable and herbs. As a member you will sample high quality specialty vegetables such as mesclun, braising mix, baby spinach and arugula, as well as a variety of culinary herbs. Most of all, you will enjoy many beautiful and delicious varieties of old standards like sweet nantes carrots, old fashioned tomatoes "like they used to taste", sugar snap peas, sweet beets, and tender lettuces of all types. Our produce is always fresh harvested.
Little Seed answers the growing demand for food that is real. In contrast to the homogenous products of today's megafarms, our customers enjoy vibrant produce that expresses the variety of our seasons. Our shareholders are assured that they are buying food grown with concern for their health and the health of our farm ecosystem. We hope you will find nourishment and culinary delight in our produce.
