Have you ever wanted to have a small garden, but don't have the space, time or knowledge? Would you like to have organically grown local produce at your fingertips, see where it is grown, know the people that are growing it, even have a say in what is grown? Or do you just want to eat fresh organic produce?
Welcome to Liv's Farm CSA. We are a family run farm in the NW corner of SC about 25 miles from Clemson. We have been raising organically grown fruits and vegetables for the past 5 years and started our CSA, (Community Supported Agriculture) in 2011. We could be the answer for your need to have your own organic garden.
We are looking for people to partner with us in the upcoming 2014 growing season. We are currently willing to sell 10 shares of our produce. The cost will be a base fee of $500 which will include produce for 2-4 people for 1 week, starting the 2nd week of May, going through October. This year we will also be including a dozen free range chicken eggs and a bunch of flowers each week. *There are additional things you can add on either weekly, or upfront to your order.
We had a really lean year last year with our honey. In talking to experts in the area, this is due to the large amount of rain we had washing the pollen from the flowers. This year we expect to be able to include pints of honey as add-ons to your weekly basket,
In addition to our annual produce, herbs and flowers, we currently have 50 laying hens and a herd of 5 dairy goats, apple and pear trees, blue berry bushes and a strawberry patch.
Our current plans are to add 2 more hives of bees the first week of April. Our 4 dairy goats will be kidding in June this year. We are expecting to get a few apples this year from our new trees.
We're also looking for an intern who would like to work and learn and hopefully instill some knowledge to us.
*add ons can include loaves of home made bread, fruit pies, and honey.
