We are a cooperative of local growers who are working together to increase the local food economy in southern and central Indiana. We run the Bloomington Winter Market (January - March) and help growers find new markets for food. We also publish an annual "Local Growers Guide" with information about area farms, CSAs, farmers' markets, and retail establishments that sell local food.
Why do growers join the Local Growers Guild? We offer a support network for our growers, connecting them with each other, with retailers, and with upcoming sales opportunities. We also can help growers with marketing, creating a website, learning about how to produce value-added products for resale, and where to get additional training. Membership dues are $40 annually and include a free market apron, a copy of our Local Growers Guide, and reduced fees to our events such as the Bloomington Winter Market and our Winter Guild Gathering.
We also invite retailers and community members to join the Local Growers Guild as associate members. We are excited about working with retailers to make buying local food an easy and rewarding process. We are delighted to educate consumers about the advantages of local food.
Please feel to contact us with any questions about our organization, why to buy local, and where to buy local!
