The Louisa Farmer's Market is dedicated to providing a point of sales for local farm producers. The primary goal of the Market will be focus on the vital role that local farmers play in our community, local economy and most important of all, to feed us. In addition, our secondary goal will be to preserve our local heritage with a key focus on the role that farms have had in our history .
The Farmer's Market will provide an outlet for heritage craft sales to augment the vendor diversity which will enhance the sales experience. Churches and other local civic organizations will be encouraged to participate by selling prepared food and crafts to facilitate that organization's economy as well as increase the variety at the market.
The Louisa Farmer's Market team will provide a market experience which will be a family-friendly entertainment as well as learning opportunity. The long-range goal for the market is to improve the variety of health and affordable options which will improve the overall health and vitality of the community. Children who learn to eat a healthy diet and make good food choices become better leaders which will hve a great impact on the future economy of Louisa County and surrounding counties.
We will be open from Memorial day untill the last saturday in September. Our times ar from 8:00am until 12:00 noon. There will be special saturdays with extended hours as well as entertainment and displays.
The Market will be held on the hill next to the Essex Bank located at the intersection of East Main street and the new 208 Connector.
