High Mountain Lamb is a small family owned livestock operation that specializes in a safe, nutritionally minded, yet flavorful, high quality product. Our meat is an all natural, 100% grass feed product. Raised in the fresh air, the green grass, and the wide open spaces of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
High Mountain Lamb is raised with its animals and pastures number one on its mind. This means that all Ewes give birth in the spring when temperature and weather are conducive to open range birthing. Also when forage is at a premium to ensure healthy mothers and a bountiful milk production for the lambs.
Because the lambs are born in mid spring, they are not available to the consumer until November. Orders may be placed all year, but shipment or deliveries will not occur until November. Yes this does make High Mountain Lamb a very seasonal purchase, but it is the only way to ensure that all parties, especially those that are four legged ,those that are root bound, plus you the consumer and me the producer get the very best possible. Trust me it is worth the weight. Replacement ewes and rams also avaliable.
WE also provide the best in grass-fed cattle Genetics. Featuring North Devon, Red Angus, Romagnola and Composites. These cattle are never fed grain of any kind, they only recieve pasture or grass hay and sometimes alfalfa if the grass hay runs out. These cattle are deep bodied, thick, easy fleshing, docile and heat tolerant. It is hot and dry in the summer and cold and dry in the winter here. If these cattle work for me they will work for you.
