These happy harbingers of fall pop up in mid autumn without any foliage. They make great cut flowers and multiply all over the yard. Their foliage comes after the blooms and stays green all winter then dies back as the weather warms up. I dig them after the foliage dies and if you plant them in spring you will probably have flowers the first year.
