We are a small, family farm located in the beautiful San Lorenzo Valley, 900 feet above the city of Santa Cruz in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We provide premium quality produce for our community year round with organically-grown vegetables and fruits, as well as pasture-raised heritage breed chicken eggs. We carefully select our produce varieties for excellent taste and quality. Our produce is grown without pesticides or herbicides resulting in highly nutritious food and a healthy soil.
In addition, we believe in the conservation and promotion of endangered livestock breeds, and we are a member of The Livestock Conservancy. (ALBC).
We sell registered breeding stock from the following heritage breeds, including Oberhasli dairy goats, Large Black Hogs, Welsh Harlequin Ducks, and Olde English Babydoll sheep. Many traditional livestock breeds have lost popularity and are threatened with extinction. These traditional breeds are an essential part of the American agricultural inheritance. Not only do they evoke our past, they are also an important resource for our future.
Farm visits by advance arrangement only. Please contact us at farm(at) madronecoastfarm (dot) com or # 408-921-5709.
We will be participating in a multi-farm CSA with other local Santa Cruz small family farms in Summer 2014. Please contact us if you would like to be notified once our CSA membership applications are available, by visiting our website at madronecoastfarm.com
