Maggie's Farm is the most affordable CSA in the area. With full shares for $600, you can eat fresh organically grown produce all year long (weather permitting). You will find that our shares contain as much or more than more expensive CSA shares. We grow a large variety of vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers. Everything is started in the hoophouse from seed and transplanted to the garden as weather permits. The work is fun and kids love the farm. We need more members. The 2014 membership fee of $600 with 5 hours work per month will provide enough fresh produce for a small family. Non-work shares are also available at $800. The price is reduced to $200 with one 5 hour day per week work commitment. If you are interested in joining, please call, text or email before April 1, 2013. Membership forms are available at www.maggiesfarmcsa.com
Farm membership has many benefits besides the great food. Get to know the natural world around you: birds, critters, insects, trees, wildflowers and Portage Creek access. Bring your canoes and kayaks! If you don't think you like gardening, we have many other work options available. Of course the planting of a small seed in good soil and watching it grow to provide an astonishing amount of food is my favorite activity. Please join us.

I had been keeping an eye out for a local CSA, meaning local, not one that I had to drive a long way to pick up produce and help work on the farm. This farm is one of very few near Dexter and my husband will often ride his bike there.... [more]
