This variety is specially suited for the the South and other areas that have high heat, drought, bright, full sunlight, and high humidity. Plants have very heavy foliage which helps shade fruits and prevents sun scald. Plants show good disease resistance to Blossom End Rot, Gray Leaf Mold, Early Blight, and Fusaruim Wilt. Fruits are large averaging 8-12 oz. each and are round, globe shaped and deep red in color. Fruits have a wonderful flavor and a good balance of acid and juiciness which makes them great for canning or for eating fresh. This is a very dependable variety and typically does well where other varieties fail. Manalucie is one of the older heirlooms that originated from Florida where heat and humidity are common. Plants set fruit well even during heat spells and very high humidity!
