These are our farm-grown marsh mallow (Althaea officinalis) seeds that we have hand collected and air dried this growing season. Marsh mallow many uses. It is a medicinal herb used in cold remedies. It also has medicinal qualities for acid reflux, large appetite, mouth ulcers, stomatitis, gingivitis, night sweats, and constipation.
We use the leaves and flowers and infuse them in olive oil to add to our salves and natural bath products. Marsh mallow is a very good skin softener and healer.
Marsh mallow is lovely while in bloom. Light lavender blossoms cover the plant. The plant can grow to 5 ft. and has similar growing habit to hollyhocks.
Right now is the time to plant seeds, they will grow and be established before winter.
