Mayhaw is a small tree and a member of the rose family. It is mostly known for mayhaw jelly in the south, but where the trees are plentiful, beekeepers often can get a surplus crop of fine Louisiana mayhaw honey.
We provide free commercial pollination for two small organically grown mayhaw orchards in southeastern Louisiana. One is Warner Farms, LLC in Warnerton, Louisiana who sells mayhaw jelly and syrup, blueberry jelly and syrup, and milk from his dairy operation. The other a small farmer lives south of Franklinton, Louisiana. Both farmers do not use any insecticides and practice organic growing methods, although they have not applied to become certified organic. No insecticides are used on the mayaws or near our honeybee colonies.
Be sure to get a bottle before it is gone. When we run out, we will not have anymore till May 2010!
