McMaine's Riverhaven Farm

McMaine's Riverhaven Farm is a haven. We are on the Salt River in an area of Kentucky that was farmed by the settlers that came to Kentucky. We feel there were native Americans here, too, as we have found a few arrowheads and flint rocks that look like they have been shaped. We enjoy growing traditional vegetables and fruits that those early settlers grew, but we also enjoy branching out into the new things that have been brought to Kentucky more recently. We have several different varieties of green beans, summer squash, tomatoes, potatoes, winter squash, watermelons, and cantaloupes that would have been grown by our ancestors, but we also grow edamame soybeans, tomatillos and many varieties of peppers that have come to Kentucky from other areas.
