From our beginnings the value of our lives relies heavily on the small things that are a part of them. The simple beauty of daily life in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains became the influence that ultimately led Bob Stevens to a love of beekeeping. In 1973 Bob and his wife Margaret decided to learn about beekeeping to enhance their backyard vegetable and flower gardens. The hobby became a passion; the passion by 1979 gave rise to Betterbee. Their experiences with beehives led them to understand that beekeeping increases the quality of all our lives by helping us pay attention to the small things. On the family farm in Greenwich, NY, they founded a company based on the premise that anyone can be a part of beekeeping - whether one keeps beehives, crafts items from beeswax or honey, or buys honey in a local market.
