The Mercury Cafe serves local, organic food. We are powered by the wind and the Sun. And community is our purpose.
We serve locally-sourced vegetables, fruits, grains, meat, fish and bar selections, augmented with fair trade imports. Ours is an organic menu with meat/fish, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices.
The Chef is resolved to buy food as close to home as possible. "Thank you!" to our conscious Colorado purveyors: Monroe Organic Farm, Rockhill Creamery, Grower's Organics, Haystack Mountain Goat Dairy, Organic Valley Farms, De Vries Chocolate, Colorado Elk and Game Meats, Campbell Hansmire Sheep, Federal Fruit and Produce, Ela Family Farms, Peak Spirits, Jack Rabbit Winery, Alverez Farm, Colorado Catch and Cline Trout. Our Elk and Lamb have only been fed their mother's milk, the grass on the mountain, and forest forage. Our chocolate and coffee come from Fair Trade sources and are delicious. Organic food is your birthright! This is REAL food, from the superb ingredients Mother Earth creates.
We make all our bread, pastries and desserts using whole grains, natural sweeteners, and cold pressed oils, and our salt comes from the sea. If a dish's description doesn't say otherwise, it means vegetarian. We have a full bar and, in the interest a sustainable environment and economy, we feature neighborhood small-brewery beers, Colorado-produced wines and liquors, and organic and organic/biodynamic wines.
Look to our website for Supper, Brunch and other menus, and for information on booking private parties, weddings, receptions and other events. We host live music, dance classes, theatrical performances, poetry slams and other live events six nights per week. And we also compost all our kitchen trimmings and have our own garden a few blocks away.
