Handcrafted, locally made in Portland by a naturopathic physician, Melissa Berry ND, Missionary Chocolates produces dairy & gluten-free chocolate truffles, to delight both vegan & non-vegan chocolate-lovers alike!
Ideal for those who are lactose-intolerant or who chose to avoid dairy products, as we use organic coconut milk as the base of the ganache instead of heavy cream. The truffles are made with 55% fair-trade chocolate from Guittard, and the seasonal fruit truffles are made using only local organic Oregon berries. We source our peppermint oil from the Seely Family Farm in Clatskanie, and use locally-roasted organic coffee for the espresso truffles. The newest seasonal variety is the Pumpkin Pie Spice, using pumpkins from Wintergreen Farm in Noti -- our focus is on using the freshest local produce available at the farmer's markets for new flavors, since it always makes the most delicious truffles possible!
The goal of Melissa's company is simple - to create great products that everybody can enjoy - and to fund a wholistic healing center in Portland, funded by chocolate. She's effectively working hard toward that goal, and in 4 years this company has won 7 awards for it's chocolates! The best thing that people can say is: "I can't believe these are vegan!"
