These are some of our fall 2009 fleeces, sold straight off the goats backs. They have been lightly skirted. Another beautiful Vermont summer with long sunny days and lots of showers helped to grow green grass and gorgeous Angora fleeces. Some of their sisters and brothers are headed to the fair this weekend!
The 14 lb seconds lot is a big discounted bag of several fleeces, from dark gray to white. It is very lightly skirted. The big cost is in shipping, but it is a good deal!!
Rancho Descansamos was started in 2004 in Wells, Vermont. We are a three-generational family, some of whom are from Mexico. We raise a variety of goats, including pygmys, angoras, and several adoptees who are living out their natural lives with us as pets. We have other barnyard animals as well.
We raise the angora goats for their fiber and sell it as rovings, as well as processing the fleece from four of a neighbor's sheep, two each Cotswold/Leister and Shetland. All of the animals enjoy the lush summers in Vermont where they are able to graze in the pastures of our farm. We grow our own hay and supplement with alfalfa and grain in the winter.
If you would be interested in the raw fiber of any of our animals, contact us in early March or early September.
