This listing is for a 4-ounce braid of gorgeous, soft, mohair and merino blended wool roving hand dyed in vibrant shades of pinkish red -- a Phoenix Farm Fiber colorway called "Pomegranate." It is a beautiful fiber with excellent crimp, softness, sheen, and that telltale mohair "halo." This roving spins up beautifully for all weights of yarn! This roving is 70% Mohair and 30% Merino wool -- the mohair comes from one of my angora goat females, Gem (last photo) and the Merino comes from a family farm in Colorado.

I use only chemical-free food grade dyes so that your fiber is not only safe, but is undamaged by harsh chemicals -- no phosphates, copper, or harsh mordants. Once dyed, the fiber is washed several times in hot water with all natural soap and air dried. The resulting yarn will be non-toxic and colorfast in vibrant shades of healthy Pom. I can reproduce this colorway on larger quantities, if desired -- just message me for details.

This fiber is stored in a smoke- and pet-free environment. It is ready for you to spin, felt, or use for any of your crafting needs! This also makes a beautiful photo prop for infant / newborn photography!

Happy spinning!

* Please keep in mind that my animals are pasture raised and are not covered. I do heavily skirt my fleeces to remove second cuts, debris, and soiled fiber. However, some minor amounts of small VM may make it through, but are easily plucked out while spinning.

Here at The Phoenix, we raise happy, healthy animals in a way that Mother Nature would approve! We offer seasonal products grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, steroids, hormones, or unnecessary antibiotics. We come as close to nature as human intervention will allow.

Everything at Phoenix Farm is raised using organic and holistic principles as we strive to be ecologically responsible. All animal fiber is harvested humanely with no harm or injury to the animals. Fiber is washed with plant-based soaps and dyed with chemical free food-grade dyes. When you buy fiber from Phoenix Farm Fiber, you can be confident that you are getting the most natural fibers without sacrificing quality.
