Mountain Mint has a spicy, mint-like flavor that makes it a seasoning for meat.
Medicinally, the leaves are brewed into a refreshing herbal tea for that run down feeling. Also used as an analgesic, an antiseptic, diaphoretic and tonic. The medicinal tea has been used in alternative medicine for the treatment of menstrual disorders, indigestion, mouth sores and gum disease, colic, coughs, colds, chills & fevers. A strong decoction can be used topically to heal festering wounds.
Very aromatic, this herb can be used in potpourri or burned as incense. Placed in a muslin bag it can be used as bath additive, and is said to be very soothing to irritated skin. Freshens the laundry when used in the dryer. Put in a drawer it will not only freshen clothing and blankets, but it also keeps the moths away!
